The Newark Partnership
The Newark Partnership emerged as a community coalition dedicated to fostering the economic, cultural, aesthetic, environmental, and social enhancement of the City of Newark, Delaware.
TNP aims to build upon Newark's distinctive assets as an inclusive and innovative university community. It's committed to expanding the diversity and engagement of Newark residents by facilitating solution-focused dialogues about community strengths, desires, and issues. Additionally, TNP is involved in economic development with over 800 businesses and commercial establishments within the City of Newark's boundaries.
TNP continues the legacy of its predecessor, the Downtown Newark Partnership, by orchestrating collaborative efforts among various stakeholders to drive forward the holistic development of Newark.

The Downtown Newark Partnership
The Downtown Newark Partnership (DNP) was an entity dedicated to the enhancement and revitalization of downtown Newark, Delaware, focusing on various aspects including economic, aesthetic, cultural, and social facets of the downtown area.
The partnership aimed at economic enhancement, attracting customers, improving parking, and planning downtown festivals. It served as a crucial factor for many Main Street business owners in enhancing the commercial appeal of the downtown area.
Towards the end of 2018, a strategic shift led to the transformation of DNP into a new entity. The DNP Board had established a Strategic Planning Committee in December 2017 to develop a proposal for this transformation. As a result, The Newark Partnership (TNP) was founded in January 2019 as a city-wide community-based organization following the sunsetting of DNP at the close of 2018.
